I realize this is ancient history for most of you guys, but:
I'm mainly an ICR2 guy who is mainly interested in road/street
courses. (I've got the coverted N1 courses.) I've downloaded the N2
demo (and converted the Glen to ICR2 with the free version of Dave
Noonan's N2->ICR2 converter -- no problem) with a view to trying to
get a look at the Wexford track (by TPTCC) to see if it's worthwhile
for me to get the full converter to convert it to ICR2. (According to
another web site, it will actually convert to ICR2).
Anyway, I can't get the N2 demo to work on its own in the first place.
I have an older system and an ATI Rage Pro video card, so I have
followed the advice of the ATI (and Sierra) web site and run ATI's
M64VBE to try to fix the problem, but no luck. The N2 demo will start
up fine and gives the menu screens, but if I try to choose "Driver
Info" the program locks up and dies. Also, I can choose a venue, but
as soon as I click on "Drive", I hear the car's engine, but the
program locks up as well and the screen does not even change over from
the menu to the***pit view. Honestly, I'm not even certain that
this is a video card problem.
As an aside, I understand that N99 (I think?) has a road course named
Heartland Park(?). Is this convertable? Is it a fun course? Is it
worth the trouble?
Probably too much trouble just to try to get two new ICR2 courses. If
anybody has a clue to the problem, I'd appreciate any advice.
