DTR... my TSW never had it so good.

With the realism at 100% and the AI at 85% strength, I'm beginning to
get a grip on how to drive these cars, and it feels good that you need
to modulate the throttle and apply 'back and forth corrections' just
like in real life. The fastest way around isnt always by keeping the
gas floored, and you hardly ever get away with merely one input of
opposite lock.. you have to saw back and forth at the wheel (but in an
accurate way!), and I've seen this done on TNT and ESPN every time I've
watched this kind of racing. With all the soft pedaling and opposite
lock going on  --my TSW never had it so good :)

Is it a simulation? ..that question is seeming more and more archaic
with each passing year.

As a Dirt Track Newbie:

When exactly do I have to apply 'opposite lock' and what will it do?

You're kidding, right? You dont know what opposite lock is?(!)
Ok. Lets pretend you're serious. Opposite lock is also called 'counter
steer' or 'steering into the skid'. In DTR (excellent game) you'll
quickly discover what I'm talking about whether you like it or not :)
If you have a wheel and pedal setup, all the better for you.

Its weird, but I can beat a single AI car at 100% realism and 90% AI,
but if I put them in a pack of 10 cars, I have to bump the AI strength
down to 80% to do well. Either way, I think the AI in DTR reacts to
your AI slider settings in a perfect way..  the best adjustable AI I
ever remember racing against.

See it as "counter-steering". In a left turn, when/if the
ass^H^H^Hrear of the car looses grip and breaks right, you counter it
by turning the wheel right too.

Well, I do, but the game calls it 'half way lock' and: Why do I need a
button for simple counter steering, if I can use my wheel (or any other
input)?
Therefore I was not sure...
and... isn't this called 'cruise control' in Driver? :-))

Thanx for the explanation
