GPLv1.1 and no cd utility not working - (cure)

by pjgt.. » Tue, 13 Jul 1999 04:00:00

Some people, like myself, had problems getting the nocd utility to work
after installing the v1.1 patch to GPL (mainly people with the UK
version are affected as I think other versions do not have cd
protection?).

Go to:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

And download the nocd-gpl1103uk.zip file.

This nifty little file (Less than 1kb in size) will cure the problem,
simply d/l it, extract the com file to your GPL directory and run the
com file. You no longer need the cd to run the v1.1 patched version of
GPL.

I was told by TW that this patch produces page-faults, havn't tested
it myself so I can't be sure

Superb! I knew a new patch would come out, but only after three
days.... Great job, thanks!

I have a full install of GPL, no nocd crack and it works fine without
the cd in the cd-rom drive...

Then you're lucky enough to have a non-uk version...

Hi Tony, who is TW? and what are these page faults? I've used the
GPLv1.1 patch  and this nocd utility for about two days and haven't had
any problems apart from I don't seem able to connect to vroc2 (but
spyboy works ok).

A bit more info would be appreciated, thanks....
