Has anyone broken the 234 mph qualifying barrier in ICR2????

by Allan Ta » Mon, 21 Oct 1996 04:00:00

Hi,

I was wondering if there are guys out there who have broken the 234 mph
qualifying spped record in Indycar Racing II. I could only touch 229 mph
using auto transmission.

Cheers,
Allan Tay

Using nothing more fancy than the game's own QUAL setup I got well
over 237, however this was with manual shifting and braking (you can go
wide open w/ the QUAL setup). I'm sure there are guys who have been
playing around and gone much faster than I have, though.

I have: Using the Nascar Taladega conversion, I was able to hit the
amazing speed of 252.619 MPH

I was also able to reach 238.669 MPH at Michigan

and i'm still working with my setups for better performance :)

In the IICC (Internet Indycar Championship Challenge) the top speed was
just over 242 mph with lots of 241's at Michigan.

At what track? I have gotten a 240 at Indy in ICR2. Can't quite get it
for Michigan though. I am using a T2.

I hit 234.454 the third time I tried to qlfy. That was about a month
ago. I haven't been over 233.5 since. Same thing at Milwaukee I hit 170+
real quickly but can't seem to get it past 169 since. I just wish I
could get a lap in on a road course without wrecking 1/3 the field
first.

I hit 236.something qualifying for Michigan.  I took the Ace setup, fixed
it up a bit and reduced the amount of methanol in the tank to about 6
gallons.  Handles like a dream, by the way.
