I'm similar.  The 'virtual *** experience' of reading usenet hype about
games
is somehow better than the actual *** experience, which is sullied by
bugs,
performance problems, and isolation.

Being very busy with my CPA practice and family legal matters, I find I
spend more time reading this NG (About 2.50 hours per day) than the time
spent playing with all sims combined ! ! !

However, when I was into RC, toward the "end",  I read mags more than racing
!

Anyone else notice this ?

Well ... I am relieved that there are at least two others who, after spending
10's of dollars on GPL, get as much or more enjoyment reading about the
hands-on experiences of others who are actually logging laps.  I read this NG
during the day at work and at home in the evening.  Am I (are we) strange or
what?

It's sad to see a group of people so caught up in discussing something they
enjoy that tey don't actually do it any more.
Maybe it's a symtom of "net nerds"...all talk, no action!!

Ben (....reading the NG postings AGAIN) :-P

Oh how about the show "Cheers".  People turned on a TV show to watch a show
about people at a pub, without going to a pub themselves.

Well, that's easy. No real human being you meet in a real pub is
THAT funny...

A LOT of things are funny when you're drunk!

Conversely, no one was ever drunk in Cheers.

Dear  friends,

You folks seem to forget that RAS generates 200+ messages per day and some
of us old farts have to decide to read RAS or play GPL, F1RS, TOCA, N2 soon
to be N99, CART, NHRA DR, Burnout, TOCA, MTM2, SODA (not much) Motoracer,

As you heard before, "Variety is the spice of Life" .......duh.......
