Do you not remember or do you really want the "world" to know of this
ruthless method of CHEATING.
The discussion we had was not about how to cheat, but how to detect
cheating. I said under the conditions of Head 2 Head or Hawaii racing
it could be difficult to detect cheating if it was done proper.
I mentioned that the if a program was written to appear to be
Nascar(Multi etc.) to the server it would assume the data sent to it was
correct. Each driver's computer determines the position and condition
and performance of thier car. The Host's (Hawaii) computer coordinated
the data for each driver.
If your Nascar clone says your new position is at X then the host will
accept that.
The clone doesn't even need to show the race (i.e. no graphics) just
send data.
15 times per second you send in your new position on the track. If you
want to be going 200 mph you simply calculate where that would put you
on the track and send in that location.
The math envolved is very simular to how the AI works. You've seen AI
cars drive thru walls. (Oops that was IRC2 - Long Beach)
It's simply
1) Where am I at on the track.
2) How fast should I be going at this point.
3) If I were going that fast where would I be next.
4) Move to the new location.
5) Send in the packet with your new location.
Repeat 1 thru 5 until the race is over.
You can modify step 3 to include lateral motion for passing.
Incoming packets tell you where other cars near you are located.
Include A modified lap pattern for pitting.
You can be impervious to Damage, Weather, Traffic, everything.
