Don't buy Grand Touring

I do try to be reasonably restrained usually - but, oh dear, Grand Touring
is not only a pile of junk, the blurb on the box is totally dishonest and is
unconnected with what you actually experience.

Save yourself the trouble of taking it back and arguing with your retailer
about "merchantable quality". Among the highlights claimed on the box which
this pathetic piece of software fails to deliver are:

1) "Power Sliding"
Come off it! The cars wallow around all over the place but they don't
slide.

2) "Fastest, beautiful graphics on the planet"
Should have realised this unmitigated lie tells the whole story - the
3dfx graphics are washed out, indistinct, grainy, dreary and dull.

3) Not possible to use seperate throttle, and car control is such that a
five year old would be bored with this after five minutes.

4) "Unique AI system"
Who are you trying to kid? So unique they just drive straight into the
back of you.

5) "Breathtaking and absorbing game play"
This is an outrageous lie! The game play is the worst I have ever seen
in ANY simulator.

Please could someone recommend a decent sim to rival GPL and Monaco/F1. Be
warned, GT is a complete con and Empire should be ashamed of themselves.

I made the mistake of installing a new MS Force Feedback wheel before
playing it for the first time. I couldn't get used to it but thought it was
the new wheel. Then I played McRae Rally and MGPRS2 and realised your right.
GT is shit. I was hoping it was going to be like Gran Tourismo. Fat chance.

Still EB have a great returns policy so back it goes.
