I don't know if this has ever happened to any of you guys before, but
this is certainly the first time I've ever seen this happen.

I have a replay of Chris Irwin at full speed at Spa, heading towards the
'Masta Kink'. Suddenly, just before he turns into the corner, his Right
Front wheel just inexplicably 'pops' off! He doesn't hit anything solid,
the wheel just seems to come loose, and roll off into the scenery,
leaving an out-of-control Irwin to crash ***ly into the barrier, and
I was rather unforunate to come in to the kink and find him in the
middle of the road :))

I'm quite sure this is a first :) If you want to see the replay, I will

address.

I've had it happen, once only, in 6 months of play.

This has happened to me twice, the first time Gurney's Eagle lost the
left front on the straight into Parabolica.  I swerved to avoid the
tire and ended up in the sand with a Ferrari that was behind me.  I
have since wondered what would have happened if I had let the tire hit
me.  The second time was on the long downhill section at the 'Ring
approching the first bridge.  A Ferrari lost the right rear and I
managed to avoid getting cought up in the resulting carnage.  Both
replays have gone into my archives.

Nothing happens if you drive through a detached tyre. Don't know why but
once it seperates from the vehicle it becomes non solid. A few days ago
while racing online at Monza I was exiting Vialone to be confronted with 4
tyres bouncing down the road. I have no idea where the chassis was but it
really was quite amusing. It was lucky I knew to just drive thru them 'cause
I might of had a tough time avoiding all of them.

This happened to me once. Dan Gurney lost his left rear wheel in the
90 at Watkins Glen.

I saw Graham Hill lose the right front at Kyalami.  On his COOLDOWN lap,
yet...<g>  I just happend to be scanning the replay file for something else,
and noticed Graham rolling slowly.  Further investigation revealed the
exploding wheel.
