I am really get sick and tired of these TV rights issues with networks. I
was sitting  here watching the Cart race from Mexico and it is about 3/4
into it and up pops on my TV screen due too rights issues in Canada we can
no longer broadcast this program on Speed Channel. So now in order for me to
watch the race I have to either stay up and watch it at 1:00 am on TSN or
tape it.

I guess my phone call to my cable compamny and I am sure a number of other
callers worked. The race is back on. I lost about 15 laps or so.

<snip>

Halfway through a race??? Wow. That's even worse than Bernie suddenly
realising ITV's F1 contract didn't cover qualifying a couple of years
back! Glad to hear it went back on.

Welcome the wonderful world of Canadian TV and TSN race coverage.  Racing on
Canadian TV is a second class sport.  If you want decent race coverage you
need to get a US based satellite system it seems.

Man, if I could find a halfway legal way to do this I would (unspam my
return address if you know a way).  I don't want to***with HU emulators
or whatever.  I'd happily mail a payment to DirectTV every month to get
their service "legally".

I like cycling too... OLN(US) carries weekly European cycling yet OLN(CAN)
puts ***like Cottage Country in its place.  F**k... I don't even know
anyone that owns a cottage... who cares.

I hate the CRTC.  Canadian content my ass... like I need to see Dave Chalk's
useless face on TechTV every hour.  Gee, a scanner Dave... yes that's
facinating.  Wow, a USB connection... thanks for that demo.

Dale.

Ummm, I saw all the glorious coverage on BEV uninterrupted. Must have been a
cable thing.

Me too!  What the heck?  I'm in Vancouver, BC and I saw all of  Qualifying
1, CART Friday night, Qualifying 2, pre-race show and the race, and even
most of the 2 re-broadcasts on Sunday night, no problem.  It was fabulous,
aside from Derek Daly's semi-annoying useless banter.

BEV did not subbed the Speedvision feed for either the CART and F1 races.

"Yet".
