Although I am an open wheel racing fan and am not particularly
interested in Nascar, I thought it my duty to let you guys know
about my experience with a new PC racing wheel from CH Products.

I purchased this wheel this week to replace the CH Virtual Pilot
I have been using for the last couple of years (I've tried
most wheel/Pedal sets on the market including Thrustmaster T2
and GP1 etc. Although the CH Virtual pilot does not look much
like a steering wheel I have not found the others to be as good
and have stuck with the Virtual Pilot for this reason.

Well !! this has now changed - The CH Racing wheel is fabulous.
In particular, I could not believe how this wheel worked in Nascar 2
It was damned perfect !! Like driving a car for real!! I must recommend
it to all the Nascar fans.

I use the wheel with my trusty CH Pedals which I have been very happy
with. The wheel is plasticky but feels well made and feels great to
hold. It has two buttons on the front and two on the rear. Either
of these button sets can be selected for gear changing in most games.
Both sets of buttons seem perfectly placed. The steering tracks
perfectly - What more can I say.

CH sells the same wheel with a set of pedals although this item
has not yet made it into Canada (expected soon).

I always fancied Extreme competition controls gear. This particular
lust has now been removed. The CH wheel was the Holy Grail I sought.

I used the CH Virtual Pilot pro too for a while.

I consider it a waste of money for racing.

Well now that goes to show how all of us are different.
I used to use a j-stick and could only win about 1 in 10 or so races
in N1 ARCA Division on NASS offline series.

This year I am using CH Pedals and VPP and have won just about every
race I run in BGN division.

May try the wheel, as for the "plasticy" feel, I bet there is a way to
modify a $5 wheel cover from auto supply store to wrap the wheel
nicely.

You need to check out the CH Pro Pedals.  These pedals are made for both
driving and flying.  In "flight" mode, the pedals pivot around a center
axis and offer toe brakes (I think?  haven't done any flying lately),
and in "drive" mode you insert a couple of chocks to lock them in place
and you now have a gas and brake pedal, on separate axis'.  The wiring
changes are made by throwing a switch on the base unit.  Nice pedals.
Large enough to place your whole foot on.  I have had zero problems
with mine, and I have had them for about a year now.  The best part is
no more broken springs!

Do not confuse these with the original CH Pedals.  The "Pro" model
is different.

These are supposed to be a nice complement to the new CH Wheel, but I
haven't seen the wheel yet, so I can't comment on it.

Has CH come out with a good set of pedals for auto racing yet?
If they do I would prefer this setup to T2 any day. T2 has a good

I feel they are a bit to stiff.

CH has had a set of fixed pedals out for quite some time.  You can
see them at thier website at    http://www.racesimcentral.net/
