Yup, GPL is definitely a very serious sim. Thats kinda why I dont like it.
Where's the game in GPL? There isnt much of one.

I did...:) I beat the "sim mode" with a joystick w/ no mods to the car.

Oh, btw, Viper racing only lets you drive Vipers and its GT version...so
Viper racing doesnt let you drive modern GT carS in it either.

Of course we all know how good GPL is - that doesn't have to be said any
more. But don't write off Viper Racing as a worthless arcade number - it is a
simulation of Dodge Vipers and has some good physics, damage, setups and car
behaviour - I haven't tried it except on a LAN but it certainly appears to
have comprehensive connectability. The tracks are imaginary (well the one
I've seen) but the cars are real and stomped all over the Porsches in the GT
this year. Sure, it's got an arcade setting but I've always had no trouble
ignoring arcade modes in sims. One of the lead guys is an ex-Papy programmer.
Try the demo and then say it stinks. Superb though GPL is, you can't drive
modern GT cars on it, or have I missed an option?

Yes, me too, but the demo only has easy mode and anyway racing AI cars is
unreal and not much fun either - in both this and GPL and any other sim it's
racing other hominids that is the real action.

Uh? In the full version you will be able to drive in a simulation of the
French Orca(?? or whatever it's called) car the won the championship.

No, there's a lot of game in GPL - just as there's a lot of game racing real
cars. Both GPL and VR give you that game. Personally, I'm not too interested in
playing the arcade mode of VR, but I like to drive these cars and race them
against other people.

Sounds like a troll to me! I'll bite, just what is your definition of
a sim? How about this "They are both games that simulate or better yet
approximate/immitate the operation and tuning of a motorvehicle, nothing
more-nothing less". If it ain't real its a game. ;-) Paul

But did you beat the best lap time?? Anybody can beat the "EASY" AI
setting that the demo limits you too. Start bragging when your lap
times are sub-58's.
I'm not so sure about this one but anyway check the name of the game
out, its called VIPER RACING, doesn't say one word about GT RACING(GPL
will not let us drive other formuls cars either-hell I always did want
to race a F1 with my Formula V(hehe).:-) Paul

In the demo, I can't drive in the ARCADE mode (From the out of car and
behind view) Is there an In CAR View? If there is ...How do I get it? The
SIMULATION mode appears to be the same as the ARCADE mode !

Try the different function keys (F1 - F5, I believe) for some
interesting views. Arcade and sim mode are distinguished by the
driving model rather than the viewpoint. And you can change the setup
in simulation mode, which helps a lot. The default setup in the v2.2
demo is awful. :)
