If are using Nascar 2 (you didn't said) you can't. You are probably using keyboard to control the car, and under this, the right side tires just don't lasts long. You will have to increase the 6th number on the TIRES line on the track.txt file. Make it about 180% of the original.

It is totaly diferent if you are using a joystick or whell. In this case, go to www.theuspits.com cause they have a very good quick-tips for adjusting your car.

Good luck.

I have a setup on one of the tracks that will allow me to pit at just short of a normal green flag stop and change right-side tires only.  Which is good, but the reason I have to pit is my right front tire is red.  The right rear is borderline green to yellow.
I assume my camber needs to be adjusted, but which way, more negative or positive?

If not what might you suggest?

Thomas.

First of all, the camber will be adjusted depending upon the tire's O,M,I temperature.  For the rear you have no control over the camber because Nascar mandates a limit on where the camber may be set.  They don't use an independant rear suspension, it's a live axle.  The only way they can camber the rear is to heat the axle tubes and bend them.  Nascar limits this to 1 Degree.  To save your outside tires, move weight to the inside first.

For camber in the front.  Lets say you go run 20 laps on the track in question.  Hit F4 or F3, whichever it is for tire temp and look at the tires.  Suppose for example that the right front tire (on an oval track) has temperatures of 230, 235, 240, Inside, middle, outside respectively.  What that is saying is that THE WAY YOU DRIVE...  You should camber the TOP OF THE WHEEL IN, because the inside temp is lower than the outside and you are wearing out the outside of the tire faster than the inside.  When the outside wears out, the tire is shot.  Maybe with lots of wear remaining on the inside.  Look at the picture when you camber the wheel and you will see which way it is moving on the screen in front of you.  If it's hot at the outside, angle the wheel so the inside makes more contact with the road.

As for not being able to last a fuel stop on tires, welcome to the real world.  Ask anyone at Bristol what they run out of first. Tires or Gas?  The best you can do is get EVEN wear from all tires.  This is not allways the best race setup however because many times a car that is a dream to drive eats tires up very unevenly.
I have the quick fix guide, and of course you can adjust the camber in NASCAR 2, what I want to know is do I adjust to the positive or the negative?  I use the virtual pilot pro to steer.
