Lap times of "real" cars arond the "old" Nurbugring

I was just interested in what "real" road cars do around the old
Nurbugring.... after all this is what really proves how good/fast a car is and
how well it handles. Anyway, This is what I found out:

I've re-sorted all the cars from the previous e-mail and removed all modified
cars and cars that were driven by "priveteers". This is the list I ended up
with :

8,06,02 = 154 km/h Robert Nearn, Caterham Superlight, 140 hp 470 kg.
8,07 = 154 km/h Ferrari 550 Maranello, Sport Auto.
8,09 = 153 km/h Lamborghini Diablo.
8,10 = 153 km/h Chrysler Viper GTS.
8,12 = 152 km/h 1998 Porsche 993 Turbo S, 432 hp.
8,12 = 152 km/h 1997 Porsche 993 Turbo, 408 hp.
8,17 = 151 km/h Porsche 996 Carrera 300 hp.
8,18 = 150 km/h Ferrari F355 380 hp.
8,20 = 150 km/h 1998 BMW test drivers, BMW M5 E39 -98, 400 hp.
8,20 = 150 km/h BMW M3 Evo E36 321 hp.
8,22 = 149 km/h BMW M Coupe, 321 hp.
8,28 = 147 km/h Porsche 911 Cabrio 993, 285 hp.
8,28,1 = 147 km/h Stephen Sutcliffe, Nissan Skyline GTR standard 276 hp.
8,32 = 146 km/h BMW M Roadster 321 hp.
8,33,80 = 146 km/h Dirk Schoysman Honda NSX 6 speed 276 hp.
8,34 = 146 km/h 1997 BMW M3 -97, 321 ps.
8,35 = 145 km/h BMW M3 SMG -98, 321 hp.
8,40 = 144 km/h Chevrolet Corvette -98, 344 hp.
8,42 = 143 km/h Audi S4 265 hp (Sport Auto)
8,49 = 141 km/h Jaguar XKR Coupe (automatic) 363 hp (Sport Auto).
8,51 = 141 km/h 1998 AMG C43.
8,52 = 141 km/h Mercedes CLK 430 automatic, 279 hp.
9,24 = 133 km/h VW Corrado VR6, Autobild, 190 hp.
9,25 = 132 km/h Opel Calibra 4x4 Turbo, Autobild, 204 hp.
9,29 = 131 km/h Mazda MX6, Autobild, 165 hp.
9,30 = 131 km/h Toyota MR2, Autobild, 156 hp.
9,34 = 130 km/h Honda Prelude, Autobild, 160 hp.
9,35 = 130 km/h Honda 200 SX, Autobild, 169 hp.
9,44 = 128 km/h Peugeot 205 GTI 1,9, 128 hp, AMS.
10,00 = 125 km/h Lancia Delta HF 4 WD, 165 hp, AMS.
10,03 = 124 km/h Toyota MR2, 124 hp, AMS.
11,25 = 109 km/h Corolla XLI 12 V, 75hp, Peter Fichtner, Germany.

All of these are road cars that were not modified.... if you want modified
cccarsn then that's a totally different story... fastest one I know of can so
it in 7,26 and is a Blitz Toyta Supra (about 650 hp). Though, if you want
really fast (ie. the fastest) then it's help by a Porche GT car (ie. Le Mans
racers)... I think it's Porche 956; anyway the lap time that has managed is
6:11 !!!! Try and get that in GPL :-)

Anyway, just a bit of trivia that some of you might be interested in.

Hi, just a comment on the "old ring":
The Nrburgring Nordschleife was about 2 km longer in 1967. The lap times
you listed here are newer cars built a long time after the old ring was
shortened in the early eighties.

Lap records on the old ring: (From Nrburgring Jahresprogramm  1994)

22,8 km: 7:06 = 193 km/h Clay Regazzoni, Ferrari F1 1975
20,8 km: 6:26 = 194 km/h Stefan Bellof, Porsche 956 1983

Btw. what lap times do people get on the ring in GPL?
