I just don't understand why this system does not run faster. I have the
latest drivers I can find for everything.

I posted this to alt.comp.periphs.videocards.nvidia...
"If you dont have a Radeon 9500 - 9700, or GF FX, then you dont have full
DX9
hardware and you wont see the Mother Nature Game Test, or the Elephant test.
As a result ( the actual score only considers the 4 game tests) - without
proper DX9 hardware - you'll SERIOUSLY struggle to beat 2000.
for example.
1.4G P4 with 9700 pro - 4133
Athlon 2200 with Ti4600 - 1663

Morris DON'T compare a new benchmark number with an old benchmark
number. If you could get near 10,000 in the 2002 madonion tests, it
doesn't mean you will see similar numbers with the new one. Mad Onion
rescales the numbers for each new benchmark version. Thisway we don't have
to compare scores like 2bazillion which some systems could probably get
with the original Madonion suite.
Look at systems similar to yours, that use the new benchmark, and then
decide if you have a pig. Remember, many benchmarkers tweek their systems
waaaay outta wack to get good results. I would never use the settings many
of these super fast benchmarkers do,...your picture quality would be so
fuzzy you couldn't tell if Jeff Gordon or Mark Martin hit you.

Yeah, but downloading it is worth it, right? Atleast I got to see the
all those greyed-out buttons after numerous messages about my graphics
card not supporting this and that... isn't Voodoo 5 a DX7 card (which
seems to be the minimum spec of 3dm03) ?-)

LOL, yeah =)
Apparently V5 isn't a DX7 card as it's missing some DX7 features...
it's also missing some DX6 features also, not to mention proper driver
support... ;-)
horrible 32fps at the back of the grid :-P
