New ICR2 Eng. Sound

Sim Guys...

And while we're at it (talking about rumored new N2 engine sound) has
any of "those that be smarter than me" hacker whizzes been able to
incorporate a better sounding ICR2 engine?  It gets tiresome swatting at
those stupid flies buzzing around my ears only to realize it's the sim.
;-)

God Bless!!

Hi Andre,

Have a go at the F1 sound from The Sim Project...Not perfect,
but a good start, and the pit-sounds and other noises have been
changed too.

For N2, try the TPTCC patch...nice rumble!!  =)

Cheers!

Hello Andre

To my knowledge there is no sounds util for Indy as the SOUND
file is to difficult to get into. As for Nascar2 the SOUND.DAT
contains 468 sound WAV files that can be "unpacked" and
fiddled with easly at home. They then need to be "packed" back
into the SOUND.DAT file for Nascar2 to use.  The UNPACK.EXE
and PACK.EXE utils are availabe from the PITS web site.

Welllllll...it is just as simplistic to modify the sounds in ICR2.
UNPACK.EXE and PACK.EXE are used in the saem way as NASCAR 2, but there
are only 19 or so .RAWs in the .DAT file.  The .RAWs can be modified and
enhanced using Creative's Wave Studio, or any decent audio
recording/playback application.

Hope this helps, and I have found a few sounds that work great in ICR2:
the NASCAR 1 engine sound for an IRL car, and that same engine sound
double-time for a CART engine.  Try it!

AFAIK, The Sim Project made some new sounds (Sampled F1's) to ICR2 earlier
this year....

You say it's better than the "swarm of flies" stock sound of ICR2?
Hmmm... any chance of you packaging said ICR2 sound in a .zip or
something and sharing it with those of us that are mentally challenged
in computer literacy?  Just wonderin'...

God Bless,

Andre
