Michael has brought up a good point. Many of the utitlies out there for
programs such as Nascar Racing 2, IndyCar Racing 2, and Grand Prix 2 have
been made
through hours of hard work and then are offered as freeware. I think that
it is nice
of these people to offer their utilities for free after all the hard work.
Making utilities
for free has almost become a standard.
There has been much controversy about the new converter. The cost of the
full version is 20 pounds, or about 35 dollars. There is nothing wrong or
illegal about
charging for this converter, since it does not use any of Papyrus' code or
makes
any new tracks. I think 35 dollars is a bit too much for this converter,
and I am not even going to use it or buy it, but I support Dave's right to
charge for it. I think that
it would have been nicer of him to make it free, but you shouldn't throw a
fit when someone comes and charges for a utilty he makes. Remember, nobody
is obligated to buy it.
I think that uploading the full version was a low thing to do. However,
the damage has been done. It would probably be better if we put this whole
thing to rest.
