Does anyone else keep hitting the problem in Microprose F1Gp where the
car gets stuck in 2nd gear (using auto shift) until you back off and
re-apply the power, it hits me a lot coming out the Montreal hairpin, any
idea how to avoid it?

Another problem, how do you drive in the wet? I'm alright everwhere
except putting the power down where all the other cars just shoot off
into the distance.

Yes I've noticed this... it seems designed-in... or .. a bug?
I never happens on manual shifting, so ..??

Yah, that is the ONLY significant problem in World Circuit, for me and
for another racing fanatic in town.  It seems no matter what you do,
you can NEVER get as fast as the Robot-Cars in the rain.  And so I think
there would be an option to turn Wet races Off in the Championship Season.
Wet races are almost barable, but ya just can't get up to the level of
competition as in Dry races...

I hope WC/GP-II has more customizable items in it... Some more realism
etc...

I sometimes cannot get it to shift down when using manual gear change. It
seems this is also a designed-in situation. I think they are trying to
simulate a situation of a gear-stuck case.

It seems like the automatic gear selector doesn't think that the high end
of the 2nd gear goes high enough to be passed on to the low end of the 3rd
gear.  Try increasing the ratio of the 2nd gear.  It might also be quite
necessary to change the 1st gear as well for almost the same amount, to not
have the same problem between 1st and 2nd gears instead.

No way to avoid it, shift manually. I have started to do that and while my lap times are less consistant and at the beginning slower, its much more fun

Rain in the championship?  I have raced many races and have never had a rain game except when I selected rain. I use 1.4 with 1.5 update.

My wet races occur when I do NON-championship races (always at Montreal
funnily enough) but I also had problems until  I did manual everything. It
just takes practice!

I personally prefer it when you change your view to one of the other cars
that are coming down any long straight and find that they are doing 190 in
first gear.....

Hi,
In the beggining of the race this is true, but for the end you start to set
faster laps than they. But it depends on the configuration. In Portugal GP
I put more more back wing (15) and this gives on the end of the race, fair
results.
