I am also planning on purchasing the T2 once I find out if it is
supported by GP 2.  I do know that the gear stick is really quite
neat.  Instead of shifting the gears like one would in a car, gears
are accessed by simply pushing up or down.  The stick goes back to the
middle after each push.  Does anyone know if T2 is compatible and if
it works well with GP2?  Thanks

The T2's gear shift simulates a sequential gearbox (i.e., like a
motorcyle's).  The number of gears depends on the sim.  There are
buttons on the dash which can be programmed for gear selection (again
sequential), but I find them even less handy than the gear shift.  There
are plans available if you want to add buttons/levers for shifting on
the steering wheel (ala F1).

It is compatible with GP2.  Thanks to the GP2 controller interface I
think the T2 works better with it than it does with ICRx or NASCAR.
However, many people are finding that their lap times are slower with
a wheel/pedal combo than those achieved by keuboarders/joystickers.
But, for me the sensation of realism is heightened by the wheel/pedal
combo.  Besides this cause less repetitive stress on the
fingers/wrists/arms!

It doesn't have buttons on the wheel. The gear stick is sequential shift.
You push it and the mechanism sends a signal to indicate an upshift. You
pull it and the mechanism sends a signal to downshift. It is not like the
gear stick you find in normal cars. (Ever played "Outruner" by Sega, it is
the same kind of gear stick, but the upshifts/downshifts are reversed :-( )

Yes, it works fantastically in GP2.
