Test Drive 4 is the worst racing game/sim since uhh... well Test Drive 3.
Terrible sound, annoying music, bad control, no options and crappy graphics
(though I don't have a 3D card) are all problems with this game.  It is also
totally unrealistic (A Chevelle going 190????) and every car's handling
characteristics are nearly identical. I know it looked awesome on the
commercial and the variety of cars makes it look appealing, but take it from
me, save your money and get NFS2SE or NASCAR2 or ANYTHING but this game.

In addition, is it true that it requires 240-260 meg of HD space?  Seems to me
I read that somewhere.  BTW, demo graphics are good with a 3dfx and P166, but I
agree with your overall conclusion, and I passed on buying it.

Absolutely true. You have -NO- choice of install size except for a
smaller (20 meg less) install size for non-3Dfx...that's a minimum
install size of about 240 megs...not worth it for this game at all.

I mentioned this in my review on Digital Sportspage, perhaps you read it there.
Yes its absolutely true. 220 meg for a non-3DFX installation, and 260 for a
3DFX install.  Absolutely ludicrous.

Yes, Randy, that's exactly where I saw it!  Your reviews have saved me some
serious mistakes, BTW.  Keep 'em coming!

Well, I usually don't like to come out and say a game "sucks" unless it
does ... and ... TD4 sucks...

Sorry Accolade.  I have had this game for 1 week now, and I have yet to
get it to work for more than one hour.  I've installed and uninstalled
about 3 times now.  Each time a different problem.

And when it didn't work the first time, I mistakenly took the advice in
the README file and TOTALLY disabled my 3dfx card ... had to uninstall
all the drivers and start from scratch.  What a pain since I had to
redownload everything.

Anyway, it's going back today !  I give up...

But I have seen the TD4 TV commericial about 25 times this past week ...
SO, I know where they are spending the money ... not on development but
on promotion.

Should have known since TDOffroad was so horrible.

I have to agree.  Just bought the game this weekend and already wishing I
could take it back.  Graphics are slow, and acceleration with  joystick
(pushing forward) is awkward.
