what type of mother board you have. If you bought your system off the shelf
from a major manufacturer I would wager it wont work. In fact, don't be 100%
sure that the 700 is supported either just because the fsb is the same.
If you built your system I would suggest visiting the website for your
motherboard manufacturer. They should have bios updates and info on what
cpus are supported. If you, more than likely, have a BX motherboard...then
you may have additional problems as the PCI bus does not have a 1/4
multiplier so this means to run your fsb at 133 also runs your PCI cards
faster than some support. Your RAM, if PC 100, may also have problems
running at the faster bus speed.
All in all the key will be to visit the web site of your computer or
motherboard manufacturer - they should have all the info you need.
One final note. The philosophy of 'waiting for the next best thing' (ie V5
or N15)does not apply itself well to computer technology....if you need
something buy it now...realize the price will immediately drop the next week
and someone will come out with something better two weeks later...haven't
you seen the Gateway commercial?
