Newsgroup Archive?

by Hoops » Sat, 05 Apr 2003 21:17:10

Hi again,

Just wondering if there is anywhere that holds an archive of all the
RAS postings. The ng servers I currently use only go back around 6
months or so and I was just wondering if there is anywhere that would
go further back than that.

I have been using Google today but prefer somewhere that I can
download the messages from so they can be read in a newsreader rather
than web based systems.

Regards

Peter

Google is going to be your best bet. Most ISPs only keep a few months
worth of messages simply because of storage limitations. You have to
understand, only a very small percentage of internet users even know
what Usenet is, much less actively use it. Therefore, it is rather low
priority for ISPs (I used to be a network engineer at an ISP so I know
this first hand.)
