Guys, I'm desperate!
I can't get a news feed any more, and the web based readers
are really difficult to use, because you always see all the
posts. I really don't think I can live without RAS!

Are there any email based, or smartgroups type lists I can
join? My interests are GPL, GP3, news on stuff like WSC,
etc. Please cc my email: richard dot beckett at motorola dot
com.
Thanks.

Consider paying for a 3rd party news feed. You can get a really good
one for $9.95 per month at www.uncensored-news.com

different pricing plans, offer several extras if you want them, have a
decent newsreader, a pretty good spam filter, and they keep posts archived a
long time.  I recommend them highly based on my experience.

Thanks guys. I got a few pointers now.

Give me a week or so, and I'll be the man to ask if it ever happens to you
or your friends.

Thanks. I have one problem with that, though - I'm behind a firewall at
work, so I need to use a web based service. If you've ever tried stuff like
google, you'll know how inappropriate they are for general news reading.

There must be a web based service out there that you can have an account on
and works like a normal newsreader program, allowing you to mark
uninteresting threads as read, and not show them (and all previously read
stuff) the next time you read, etc.

I've not found one yet, though.
