Aggressive driving

Is there a software program that will allow me to increase the
aggressiveness of the other computer cars? I remember seeing one a
while back but can't seem to find it. I did find one that list the
code but I really don't know  what to change. The one I remember had a
template that allowed me to change the traction,power and other
elements. I could also set the order of talent in the car set file.
Any suggestions?

Sorry about that I realized I had left it out later...I was referring
to Nascar. Still waiting to see and hear the reports on GP2. It just
recently came out here...

I know that there are a couple of "editting" programs out there for
altering the drivers2.txt file.  I just can't point to them right now.
You may want to check out "The Pits" (http://www.ukps.com/thepits/).

In the meantime here are a couple of previous posts which explain the
numbers in the drivers2.txt file (which you can edit with a text
editor).

The numbers stand for:

Car Number..Chassis..Tyres..Power..Traction..Drag...Aggression

The Power rating dictates acceleration; Traction governs cornering
speed; Agression indicates how ealily the driver will move over when
challenged and Drag dictates wind resistance and straightaway speed.

The base line for these ratings is 500 and that value is adjusted up
or down to reflect relative ratings for each driver.   A good

Higher ratings for Power, Traction and Drag indicates higher
performance.   The opposite for Drag.   The game randomly selects a
number within each range, generating a different number of each
session.   The wider the range, the less consistent that car will be.

In general terms, it determines how agressively an AI car will turn into
you to defend its position. Low agression numbers will cause the driver
to
more willingly yield a position when you put your nose under the car in
a
corner. Higher agression numbers will cause the car to rub you more
often
in an attempt to defend its position.

Here is a little more information:

TECHNICAL NOTE

TITLE:  MODIFYING THE DRIVERS2.TXT FILE

DESCRIPTION:

The DRIVERS2.TXT (and DRIVERS.TXT) file holds information about the
car numbers (as they appear in the standings screens), drivers names,
and drivers attributes.  This file may be edited so that users can
change driver names and other information.

SOLUTION:

(NOTE:  Before modifying any files that came with the game, always
make a backup copy!)

You can use the DOS Editor or any simple word processing package to
modify this file.  Always save it as a text (.TXT) file.  You should
always make modifications to the DRIVERS2.TXT file, unless it does not
exist.  DRIVERS.TXT is only read by the game if DRIVERS2.TXT does not
exist.

Here's what the editable lines look like:

       1  2 3  4   5   6   7   8   9  10  11  12
DINFO  94 1 0 500 562 500 562 100 150 500 562 John_Smith John

Here's what the numbers mean:

1. Car number (any number from 0-99)
2. Chassis style (0,1, or 2)
3. Tire manufacturer (0 or 1)
4. Minimum power (000-999)
5. Maximum power (000-999)
6. Minimum traction (000-999)
7. Maximum traction (000-999)
8. Minimum drag (000-999)
9. Maximum drag (000-999)
10. Minimum aggression (000-999)
11. Maximum agression (000-999)
12. Drivers name and other info

The car number, chassis, style and tire numbers are self explanatory.  
The minimum/maximum numbers require a bit more explanation.  Each
number can be between 000 and 999.  The higher the number, the more
power, etc. the driver will have.  The minimum and maximum is a range
that the game randomly picks from each time you race.  Although these
number have some affect on the game, much of the information for each
driver is hard-coded into the game.  Even afterediting these numbers,
you may not notice a huge difference in game play.

Drivers names may also be changed in this file.  Always remember to
place an underscore (_) between the first and last name.
