TOCA Touring Cars 2!

Fantastic!

I rented this game on the Playstation when it first came out and it totally
rocked! But now, playing the demo of it on my PC I realise just how much
better it is than I first though!

Could they have made this game any better? Well, yes, but only if they
changed two things...

1, why are we still in the days where we have hexagon shaped wheels in the
external view of the Formula Ford? They should be smooth and ROUND, like in
GPL.

2, Does Codemasters have a 'thing' for the sounds in its games? The very
same sounds have been used in the first TOCA Touring Cars AND in Collin
McRae Rally and AGAIN in TOCA 2!

Why!?

I hope to see more games in future doing what Microsoft did with its
Motorcross Madness and recording the REAL sounds of cars and bikes, not fake
ones...

I must have a totally different version of TOCA, CMR and TOCA2 demo to you
then because the sounds are completely different and much more realistic in
TOCA2.  They've caught more of the "rawness" of the Super Touring cars in
TOCA2, plus the "chunk" sound on the gear changes without losing that
wonderful transmision whine.

Hmm. It could be that the sounds in the demo of CMR and TOCA 2 are
different to what they are in the retail version, but that's the only
thing I can suggest. This happen in the demo of GPL too. The first
demo used the engine sounds from Nascar Racing 1, but the full version
doesn't - and I thank my lucky stars for this!
