I found a review of the fastest lcd's and the opinion was still not good
for games. Too much ghosting.

I've got an Ultrasharp 1801FP, it runs great. Just make sure that it is
below 25ms, I believe mine is 16ms.
Two things to bear in mind, having said that. 1. You must run a TFT at it's
native resolution, so find out what it is, not what the max res is but how
many individual pixels it has been built with. 2. Make sure you understand
what the response times are and also take into account contrast and
brightness levels.

I've been using a Dell FP2001 for many months now. This is a panel rated at
16ms response time. No problems in any racing sim - GPL, NR2003, F1CS, etc,
etc. I don't play too many FPS but I'll say FarCry sure looks gorgeous on
it! <grin> If you are looking specifically for an LCD with a low response
time, be aware that some manufacturers only achieved this by limiting the
number of colours the display can produce.
Here's a good review of the Dell FP2001 at Anand:

As mentioned by a previous poster, it is best to run at the native
resolution of the panel. If that's 1600x1200 like the Dell, also be aware
that this gets close to the theorectical capabilities of the DVI interface,
so you need a video card that adheres to that spec closely. Unfortunately
some of the previous generation nVidia cards did not do so well at that.
