Assuming of course that the TEN and Papyrus/Sierra people get the price
down enough to make it worth it.
I _wish_ (and I have been a good boy this year) that the NRO will allow
the racers to use their own cars in a set that all racers in the race will
be able to see. Even if it requires day before qualifying.
The qualifiers could be given over night to upload their cars. _OR_ when
joining NRO the drivers can submit a car just that once for them to keep
and stick on a web site for the other racers to get when they want. If
they do not want to participate in this part, fine, just give them a
default set(list).
Numbering is a small problem, but numbers can be automatically stamped on the
cars once assigned after qualifying by NRO (uglier) or the driver could
submit a version of the car with the correct number for each race if so
inclined (nicer). Of course depending on how the serieses are set up each
driver could be assigned a number at the beginning of the "season" like in
real life. Actually I'm not sure how in real life they get and keep their
numbers, but using the same methedology would be fun. I haven't heard if
this would be even close to what's on the mind of the NRO people. Any out
there listening?
Anyways, 39 zipped up .PCX files would not take that long to
upload/download and I for one would not complain if it gave me the chance
to race with the real cars of my opponents.
It would be fun.
