Rain, thunder etc in GP2

by Tony R » Fri, 16 Aug 1996 04:00:00

I've just been playing around with a program called "ripper4" and
extracted some wav's from "sample.cat" that is in the GP2/SOUND dir
and got some interesting wav's. I found two that definitely sound like
rain and thunder. Others were spoken warnings of black, red flags etc
all in English, German etc and others such as "you got pole position,
well done". Has anyone heard spoken radio msg's in GP2? It looks as
though it might all be there in the game and all we need is a patch.

Grab a sound ripper and look at the file I mentioned. There's a heap
of wave files in there such as engine sound, skid, starting horn etc
so you'll just have to listen to them all. But believe me, they are in
there. If you want the ripper I use then let me know.

Cool!  I'd want to hear "You're fired!" or "Why the **** are you driving
BACKWARDS?"
Here's hoping it's in GP2 Ver. 1.0314159!
(Thunder?  I hope not.  Thunderstorms scare the poop out of me.)

I've have a CD with very-very samples of the Renault V-10 engine. Maybe
we can create some samples of the same size, and replace the Mercedes
engine sounds with new ones???

I can play with the Renault V-10 sample...if someone can help me in the
technical part of it (replace samples in the sound files of GP2) .......
