New to this newsgroup. Wonder what games you guys are usually talking
about or interested in. I played some of Colin Mcrae 2005 but found it
to be too unrealistic and played a little Richard Burns Rally but found
that its way too hard to play without a wheel. As far as console games
go I prefer Forza to GT anyday and Enthusia is not too bad either.

Most people around here tend to play PC sims with a wheel but there's the
odd console gamer.  Forza is pretty good as far as physics go in a console
game.  I think it probably is a bit more realistic than GT4 though I prefer
the smoother graphics in GT4.  Richard Burns Rally is probably the only true
simulation available for any console but as you've discovered, it's
incredibly difficult without a wheel.

I haven't tried Enthusia yet, but I've heard it's quite good.

I played a bit of Live for Speed Demo. That was kind of funny because
when it got boring you just load up the car with 4 people and ram others
off road, haha.

Richard Burns Rally has a pretty steep learning curve. I got everything
except the last lesson in Rally school where you had to finish the
learner's course in 1:24 or something like that. I usually miss it by a
second or so without a wheel and that kind of got frustrating so I
haven't touched it since.

Graphics is probably the sole aim of GT4. I tried it at Tech Rec with a
wheel and found drifting next to impossible even in an NSX-R. Its a MR
and it can't drift.. there is something wrong with that (STM and TCS off
of course).

Enthusia on the other hand I think drifts too much and it can be quite
annoying.. There are lots more annoyances like Enthupoints where if you
hit things you lose these darn Enthupoints (very annoying when comp
constantly bump into you).

I wish they have Forza on the PC. That way you can get new cars and maps
easily and update and fix the many shortcomings of the console release
(bugs in Forza are endless, I wonder if they ever bothered testing
before releasing).

So what do you guys play on the PC? The titles I come across here seems
all GT related.. Way too fast for me. I like to race production cars
more so than GT because they are more practical and closer to reality.
GT is fast but if I want fast I go Rally..

True for some of us even with a wheel.  That last test is _much_ more
difficult than any other.  You'll still enjoy running the non-school
stuff.

GtLegends,

but I warn you, you need a wheel, and you WILL be ***ed.

check out the seemingly decent 100-150 dollar value Logitech Driving Force
pro racing wheel I think it is called?   playstation compatable (if that
matters) most seem to think it works great (I think that is the consensus).

With Logitech, everything is free. :) You just gotta know how to milk
them for their stuff.
