9 Cents a Minute Long Distance

I got a flyer in the mail from a long distance carrier who promises long
distance at nine cents a minute, with a monthly access charge of $4.95.
The offer is from WorldXChange, and it's called "Talk Cents".  You can dial
the number directly and have it billed to your local access company by
dialing "10502" plus the number, or you can subscribe by calling
1-800-569-8700.

I tried using the 10502 access, and it seemed like a pretty solid
connection; caveat, I'm dialing from Boston, so Hawaii is a local call for
me; but it sounds like a few other people dialing Hawaii have had good
connections on real long distance calls using "Talk Cents".

I've got no affiliation with WorldXChange, and don't know anything else
about them aside from what I've read in their flyer and having sucessfully
used the access number.  Anybody else heard of them, or using them?  Are
there any other long distance carriers out there than can beat 10 cents a
minute?

I tried it from Ca, and had problems connecting. When I did connect, 1 out of 3 or 4 races, I was dumped! Finally went
back to AT&T's 12cents a minute.

Well, Sprint's 10 cents/minute rate is actually 9 cents/minute because you
get 10% cash back at the end of the year.  The main kicker is that there
is no minimum to use and no monthly fee.

I've been using it for quite some time and have not had one bad
connection.

I guess some people think that it is too strict because you can only get
10 cents/minute if you call between 7:00pm and 7:00am on weekdays or
between 7:00pm Friday to 7:00am Monday morning.  If you call any other
time it is something like 25 cents/minute.  Gee, that's never bothered me.

PS - I also am not affiliated with any phone company.  Just putting in my
9 cents/minute.  :)

I'm an independent rep for a company called Excel.  We have $0.09 per
minute plan called Simply One.  It's very similar to Sprint's well
publicized calling plan, but its only $0.09 per minute from 7p.m. to 7
a.m. and $0.25 per minute any other time.  There is a $1 per month
surcharge.

The service does not require dialing any digits after dialing 1, it's 1 +
number, just like the big guys.

This program is brand new, and I'm still waiting to get brochures.  I'll
be happy to send one to anybody who's interested when they come in, just

I got a flyer in the mail about a month ago for a long distance service
that claims to get Long Distance Minutes at Wholesale rates.  The discount
is based on how many miles are between the caller and the called numbers.
On State to State calls it breaks down like this.
    0-925   miles       Save 15%
  926-1,910 miles       Save 20%
1,911-3,000 miles       Save 25%
3,001-4,250 miles       Save 30%
4,251-Plus              Save 50%.

From texas to boston using thier code and standard AT&T service I had a
normal, for me :-), connection that averaged 11.7 cents per minute.  the
code is 10297 then the standard 1+phone number.  True this is more than the
.09 and .10 rates others are talking about.  However they state that they
can get Sprint for the same discounts.  so.  If you're calling from over
4,250 miles away and using sprint during .10 times it would be .05.  Cool.
I'm thinking of moving further away from Boston now. :-).

>The best deal I've found is to be a PHONE-***, this is where every 1 to 2 months ATT, MCI, or Sprint will call/send check for at least $50.00

and they all charge the same rates give or take a couple cents per
minute.  When they call I ask 3 questions: 1.How much is it during the
day?  .20-.25
2.How much at night/weekends? .10
3.How much are you going to pay me? $50-100
And these idiots keep paying and paying.  Jeff
