Is there a device on the market that I could plug my
joystick/gamepad/steering wheel into, then just turn the dial to which one i
wanted to use?  I have seen some simple a b boxes but heard that it could
damge them.  Thanks.

The Quickshot J-Link Turbo (model #QS-5845)
Cost me AUS$50, which is about US$30
Connects up to 4 joysticks at once, then simply flick the switch to
select which one you want. Also has turbo fire for each port.
I have my joystick, gamepad and wheel all connected, all I have to do
is flick the switch and then calibrate in Win98.

I have the CH Products joyswitch box.  It works great except for one
thing...It does NOT work with programmable or digital joysticks, only the
older analog ones.  My Thrustmaster T2 wheel and my gamepad work fine with
it.  My Thrustmaster programmable F-22 joystick does not.  Also...the
Joyswitch literature states it will not work with programmable sticks.
Buyer beware

In that case check out www.joyswitch.com. I have one and it works great
with my F22-Pro/TQS/RCS & Formula T2.

If your fairly handy with a soldering iron and know which pin does what, you
could make one yourself.  This method probably wont damage anything (dont hold
me responsible if you try it and it does though).  All you need is 3 female 15
pin connectors and one male.  Then its just a matter of devising a switch that
will only contact one controller at a time.
I wont know how well it works till i try it though.
