Unable to access "load" button in F1RS !

by John Hartridg » Fri, 11 Dec 1998 04:00:00

I have problem accessing the bottom area of the
menu screens.  If I move the flag pointer over the "load"
button it lights up, but I cannot click on it !
The "configure" and "save" buttons work fine but I
notice that the "OK" button can only be clicked in
it's top half - not the bottom half !  I also cannot
click on the "return" button in the replay screen.

I read somewhere that the Start Bar can interfere
with the menus so I moved that from the bottom to
the top of the screen, but this made no difference.

I am using an Orchid Righteous 3dfx card with 4Mbytes
RAM.  The standard card is a Cirrus Logic 5446 1Mb RAM
which I have to run at 640x480 max (I've tried all colour depths).
I can't get 600x800 to sync on my monitor.

Without the "load" button I cannot continue to use
what looks like an excellent game as I have to re-enter
 set-ups every time.

 Any ideas ?

Well, it might work, but my monitor won't sync on 600x800
so I can't try it.

Surely this is a bug - the menus display ok at 640x480,
the option highlights as though it can be selected, but it
just won't click ?  The actual driving only occurs at
640x480, so why artificially impose this resolution
for the menus ?  I think they just screwed up.

I'll stick with GP2.  Good job I bought it on budget.

If you have the European version you probably need the latest patch.
If you have that, try putting your taskbar on autohide.
