If I was your employer and saw the way you carry on in this board, you
wouldn't have a job for much longer either.

Pretty funny ,Blade, absent the potty talk!!   I hope I'll be able to
disagree with you when I finally  can buy the game, but you made me
laugh!  We need more laughing around here!

You couldn't really fire him for what he does OUTSIDE of work.  If it's not
illegal, or he's not representing the company, then it's own business if he
wants to be a jerk...

I have NO doubt that the game is worth $5.  Heck, even Carmageddon was worth
THAT.  I don't see myself paying $50 like I did for GPL.  Recently I've been
waiting for the prices to drop a bit.  I wouldn't buy N3 at $49(or whatever),
but I bought it at $29.  Perceived value.  When the price drops to where I
think it should be, or I see something that raises the value for me, I'll get
it.  Easy.

You'd be surprised how many bosses think they *own* you.

Back in the mid-80's, I lived in NC & worked at a Coca-Cola plant.  A
guy there was getting married to this woman who worked for Pepsi.  He
was told in no uncertain terms that if *she* continued on in her job
after they married, he would not be working for them.  That's why I
wouldn't work non-union any more.  They tried firing me last year, I
just ended up with an equivalent of a 3 week paid vacation.  I've given
my boss hell ever since.  He can't do anything about it, or it'll be
"haras***t". <GG>

Two, why would you keep working in what could be considered a 'hostile'

Last I had heard, they were hiring a lawyer & were gonna fight it.  I
left state shortly after that & came back here to Michigan, so I don't
know how it ended.  But an Average Joe who can't really afford to fight
it will really get screwed over in a situation like this.  In a union,
*they* pick up the legal tab for you.

I'm sure it's not.  Last I heard, before I left the state & returned to
Michigan, is they were hiring a lawyer & were gonna fight it.  Good for
them, I hope they won!  OTOH, the average poor working Joe could never
afford to fight such an unreasonable employer.  At least, as a Teamster,
any necessary fees to get my job back are covered by the union.

Yeah, right.  I've never been the type to roll over & play dead for
nobody.  You want me gone, you'd *better* do it right!  At this
particular place of employment, the only firings that have stuck have
been the ones where people have chosen to just walk away & say***
them.  There's been well over a dozen firings, all overturned in the
past year or so.  They'll *try* anything, doesn't mean we're gonna let
them succeed! <g>
