Just been watching the race live on Eurosport . It's amazing how determined
the Audi team is to win this year . They were running 1-2-3 earlier and the
lead driver was still pushing hard in the corners this late in the race ,
giving 99% . They even changed a gearbox in four mins.

There was some fabulous in-car footage from the DAMS Caddy with the cam just
to the left of the driver's head ,  virtually giving us an impression of
what he was seeing  albeit without helmets on . If WSC can simulate that
effect and try to create a little of the atmosphere of the great race then I
can see us having some fabulous online contests  next year  . We could setup
a multi hour event of our own to be held over a weekend , either doing all
the driving ourselves or sharing with a "team-mate" . Many of us in Europe
now have  free evening and weekend internet access just as you  Americans
have had for a long time so call costs would certainly not be an inhibitor .

I hope the West Bros put 100% into WSC to make it as great as , if not
better than GPL . It's a shame that we'll have to wait until next year , but
as long as it's done properly then it'll be worth it in the long run . I
must admit that I was one of the saps who bought Le Mans 24hr , what a waste
of  30 quid . If I knew of someone local who wanted it I'd give it away.

Well  I can see out of the window here in sunny  Wales that there isn't a
cloud in the sky (makes a ***y change) so I'm off  to get some cycling
done . Bye for a few hours.

ps If you've heard it then what was that prototype with the high pitched
engine , screaming down the straights at Le Mans . It sounded fabulous . If
that was the Ferrari 333sp then it'll be a joy to race in WSC with good
quality speakers.

You are right, here in the States, the Doyle Risi team has "created" a
custom car by using the Ferrari 333sp chasis but dropped a Judd V10 into
the engine bay.   The problem with the Ferrari, is age.  The WSC spec'd
engine just doesn't compete with the newer powerplants...Thats a shame,
I always pulled for the Prancing Horse to try and run down the Riley and
Scott teams here.

My guess would be that was the BMW, if you likened it to the 333.
The BMW was the only V12 in the field and although my heart is
with big V8s (and, to be honest, preferably on dirt), the V12 is
definitely a sweeter pitch than other racing engines.
