internal resistance Help!!

Can someone help me????? My physics teacher asks me to identify what
internal resistance is and also he wants me to identify the effect it
has on a motor! Can someone help me with that information? I'm a little
lost on it! I tried finding information but no one was very helpful! I
hope you can help me! If you can please email me at

Without getting all technical, I suspect you mean internal _friction_,
which is the friction between the moving parts in an engine. (Motors
are electric, internal combustion devices are engines; at least in
proper English. Pardon me if English is NOT your native tongue.)

In an electrical motor, there may be "internal resistance", as distinct
from friction, but my memory of things electrical is old and tucked
away in a back corner which doesn't seem to be responding to queries.

Hi,

Are you talking about motor (electrical) or engine ?
physical or electrical internal resistance ?

Concerning electrical electrical internal resistance of motors,
As far as I remember it comes from the copper of the resistivity
and the rotor hysteresis (magnetic remanence) .
Not sure since my electricity knowledges are getting old :-)
Hope it helps.

Google for 'motor internal resistance' turns up a zillion hits - the first
few are a little more technical than you may need but there's more than
enough others. Hope this helps.
