the outcome of races.  Indycars are shown down under at midnight Monday.
This means that I don't usually get to watch until Thursday or Friday.

If you must discuss a race PLEASE place some kind of warning in the header.

Thanks

I couldn't agree more Emiliano....
It is frustrating reading a post, that is totally unrelated to the just
completed CART race or F1 race and suddenly finding a comment about how
such & such driver did well in such & such race, that was just run the
day before etc..
If you must comment on the CART or F1 races in any post, please add a
spoiler notification to the post's heading for at least a week after
any event is run..
As Emiliano said, down here in Australia, we don't get the CART
broadcast till 12:00 midnight on the Monday following the event and
some of us do like to watch the events with a bit of mystery involved
as to the outcome.  :)
Thanks,
Ron

Look Emiliano, this issue has been discussed here a million times before.
Every time I follow this ng for a couple of days (and I do so at pretty
lengthy intervals), there's someone asking for the "Spoiler" notation on
messages regarding recent motorsports events. And sometimes people here have
even arrived at a concensus.

The problem is, in practise, conciderate people will use the "Spoiler"
notation, while inconsiderate people, or those with little control over
their emotions ("MY GUY WON... I GOTTA TELL THE WORLD!!!" ;-)), won't.

If your enjoyment of a race is spoiled by knowing the outcome, I suggest not
coming here until you've seen it.

For example: I subscribe to the Gail Force F1 mailing list. I also work most
Saturdays, so I have to tape qualifying and watch it later... by then I have
received the results via E-mail. Well, I don't open the mail, watch the news
on TV, or read the ng's before I've watched the tape. Simple huh?

Jan.

Yes i agree it is pretty irritating to see the results of a race posted
before you have seen it on tv.
i have even had times when i was watching speedvision waiting for the f1
races to come on and the darn scoring banner on the bottom of the tv screen
is giving me the results 20 minutes before i am to watch the race.
i think it best to just avoid all areas that you may see the results until
after the race broadcast.

Look Jan, it just didn't occur to me that I should stay away because other
people didn't care that they were occasionally ruining reading the group for
others.

I thought that maybe by raising an awareness of the problem we could work
towards a solution.

When the Indy 500 was still 'time-delayed', I would avoid ALL tv/radio until
the 9pm broadcast...  Fortunately, I wasn't on the internet then. <g>
