Need a driving simulator shell

Hi,

I work at the Center for Transportation Research of ***ia Tech,
and we are doing research on Automated Highway Systems.  We have modified
a RC car to use infrared sensors to track a white line on a simulated
highway, and also uses acoustic sensors to maintain a desired headway
behind another RC car.

We have hooked up a wireless camera on top of  another RC car that is
controlled by the original RC control that a human drives.  This driver
drives by looking only at the TV screen receiving transmissions from the
camera.

We want to build a simulated environment for this human driven car. I
was thinking about some of the driving video games where you actually sit
down in a semi-enclosed shell with a steering wheel, gas pedal and
TV screen. I know that the newer kick ass ones like Hard Driving are way out
of our price ranges, but I was thinking of some of the older ones. Did Pole
Position have a sit down version?  How about Outrun?

Does anyone know of any dealers who I could contact to buy parts from
an old one of these.  We don't need the working game or TV at all, just the
seat, enclosure, steering wheel, and gas pedal, though the TV screen would be
a plus.

Thanks much.
