I downloaded beetle buggin demo by the end of last week and it's ok just
depends on what you like. It's def. no gpl. Its more of an arcade like racer
with some realistic physics. Al togheter its a fun drive inbetween those gpl
sessions wich require the uppermost of your skills and concentration. The
demo was pretty easy to beat though. You get two tracks enabled. 1.cross-
race indoor auto cross. Its fun but the second try around i finished first
already way to easy.
2. Monstertruk. Ride around an indoor track thru and over obstacles without
try to hit the cones within an specified time. This one was a bit trickier
since every time you hit a cone you get a time penalty and hitting two or
three cones and you can shake it.
I had a lot of fun trying but within a half an hour this level was beaten as
well. I sure hope the real game is a bit more challeging. Cause it seems
like fun to me.
i hope this helps

I got my MS wheel going no problem in the demo. I can't remember exactly
how, but if you can't figure it out I can try again and let you know. It is
fun though.

This seems to have 2 names. I saw it on tv under the guise of Beetle
Crazy Cup and downloaded it from infogrames under that name. All 49.3Mb
in 3 hours on 56k and you need to be running DirectX 7 to play it.
I've had problems though. Firstly, the race locks up. I've not been
able to last more than a couple of minutes. This may not be entirely
the games fault though, as my system can be temperamental now and again.
Though, at the moment my other 3d card games seem to work fine. It's
only this one where the problems reoccurs every time.
Secondly, I can't get the game to work with my joystick. When I first
ran this game and changed to game controller and then tried to modify
the inputs for acceleration, braking, gear up/down etc, it wouldn't even
recognise the up movement of my stick at all. So I recalibrated my
stick in windows and tried the game again. This time it recongnised my
inputs, but when I tried to race only moving my stick backwards or to
the left seemed to have any effect on my buggy. I could reverse like
crazy, but not go forward and steer left, but not right. So all in all
I could go backwards in a straight line or in a clockwise circle. I've
since tried several times to modify the inputs for my controller, but it
just won't fix this problem.
This is a shame because the game does look like it would be fun and
graphically it looks fine. On the tv proggy that they showed this game
on the presenter said something about a graphic technique was being used
to avoid the draw ahead that sometimes shows up in other games and
indeed the screen updates, from what I've managed to see, seem pretty
smooth. Maybe this new technique is taxing my system. Who knows. :)
