FAST! (but real?)

OK, call me an old so and so if you like, but here's my problem: I have
found some very fast setups on the net from all of you guys who do such
great work. On several tracks, the opponents at 100% just aren't
competitive. I want to be fast, but I want to be realistically fast. I
don't want to "beat the sim" if you know what I mean. Does anyone have any
thoughts on where a realistic setup ends? How much is unrealistic stagger?
I'm not a real gear head, so I just don't want to have a setup that is
fast, but totally unrealistic. Where do I draww the line (lines)?

If you want 'realistic' setups, do them like the real drivers do. Don't
download them off the net - work them out yourself! Start with the
default ace setup, get yourself a copy of the Quick Fix setup guide, and
go and thrash out your own setups. Much more of a challenge than just
using someone elses, and teaches you alot about driving, too.

I still find though personally that I can win easily using the Ace setup
and with opponents at 100%, esp. in wet conditions.

Are we talking ICR2 or Nascar ? (Just curious, I find that hard to believe
in ICR2, although the part about a wet race would suggest ICR1)

Cheers.

In principle - this is good. But equally, do like real drivers do and
ask advice from others. Downloading someones very fast setup MAY work
for you as it is. But I often find I end up using them as ideas only.
For many the "Ace" setup is everything but - someone elses "fast" setup
may not be ideal but at least works. It's often been one "major" change
that transforms something.....

.....years ago F1GP seemed difficult, then I saw all the fast setups had
a massive rearwards bias to the braking. Maybe I'd have got there
eventually but so many blind alleys avoided there!

.....massive frustration with Nascar might have made me give up in
disgust since the Glen was the only interesting place to drive. But then
some pointers suggested BIG reductions in the steering lock.....and the
cars at least began to handle!

Cheers!
