Newbie tips

Hi guys,
I'm new to the NASCAR game.  Just finally got figured out how to
drive well enough to qualify around 188 or so.  I'm having a hard time
driving in traffic but I think its just a lack of experience.  I was
wondering if anyone could give me some setup tips for the car at
Talledega.  I just can't seem to get it to run any faster and when the
flag drops those other guys blow me away.
                   Thanks in advance, Frank Payne

Frank,

Spoilers to the bottom, tire pressures and shocks to the max, low
stagger, low wheel lock and tons of practice.  Browse around this
newsgroup and some of the sim websites and you'll find quality setups
for every track.  Good luck.

All of this is good advice, but I just wanted to add something that's made
traffic at Talledega easier for me; version 1.2.1 of NASCAR. The effects
of drafting are the biggest improvement, and if you're new to NASCAR
you're probably running ver1.0 (like I was). Although this makes it harder
to pass (the draft effect is diminished) you can run behind other cars
without running into them (speed increase is not as great). You can get
this patch at most of the NASCAR websites.
Have fun,
Jeff
