My own little tip, for GPL

I've found that the very best way to get used to the different tracks
in GPL is to use the AI patch, slow down all the cars and follow them.
After a few laps you'll start to get used to the tracks, and the AI
cars will behave like trainer cars.

I now know Silverstone by heart, which wouldn't have happened without
doing the above.

doing the above.

It *would* have happened, if you spent the past 7 months practising at the
circuit!

Nevertheless, it is a good tip.

I 'tweaked' the AI to be in a range of 85 % to 115 % of my own speed.
Okay, I am a beginner, but I improved from 1.13 to a low 1.10 within two
hours at the Glen (10 laps practice, training, race - afterwards
swapping cars) today.

My advise is to pick one track you think is kind of a challange or fun and play
it for about a week or two a little each day.  I drove the Ferrari at Mosport
until I got down to 1:25 on the default setup.  From that point I went to other
tracks and was learing them in just a few laps instead of hours.  Mosport is a
good track to learn on and the Ferrari default setup  is actualy a pretty good
setup for that track.

I did the same thing as Spirewolf and used the AI patch to slow down
the other cars. I've now learnt all of the tracks which I used to
ignore, by heart.

I learnt Silverstone in just a few hours! I could still do with a lot
of practise however. 8-)

Better than spending 7 months practising it! Then again, I imagine it
would take twice that long to learn the Ring!
