: Hi, I was wondering if someone could tell me in it's worth buying
: IndyCar2? I love playing Nascar2 and thought that maybe Indy id the
: same. The only thing that kinda' scares me are the road courses. I have
: yet to finish one in Nascar2. But I'm sure with a little practise I
: might get buy. Is indyCar2 Much easier to drive with a T2 or a joystick?
: Just asking before I go and blow my money on something I'm not going to
: play:)
If you enjoy racing and especially if you follow any of the CART races,
I would say go for it. Indycar2 will require a different approach to
driving. The cars are alot "lighter" and won't take the "man handling"
the NASCAR2 cars will. There are enough ovals to keep you happy. I
personally feel that the road courses are easier in Indycar than NASCAR.
But to be truthful, the road courses in NASCAR2 are modelled better than
ICR2. But what would you suspect, since NASCAR2 is based on a new
engine design.
Some people can do just fine with a joystick. My hats off to them, but
the only way I have been able to drive is with a steering wheel/pedal
combo. I highly suggest one for Indycar.
If you do go for Indycar2, make sure you get the needed patches at
Sierra's web site. I highly doubt that they have re-mastered the CD's
to include the fixes.
If you are really serious about NASCAR2 and want to get Indycar, I would
recommend purchasing either the Intergraph Intense 100 or Sierra's
Screaming 3D accelerator video cards. Both come bundled with a DOS
version of Indycar2. The graphics and frame rate will greatly enhance
the control and sensation of both sims. I think the Intergraph is $169
plus postage and I have heard of similar prices for Sierra's card at
some of the big discount chains.
