Driving Wheel in N3

I have been trying for some time to get my SideWinder Precision Racing Wheel
(non-FF) to work in N3.  Its USB and everything installs fine.  Calibration
works well and there appears to be no hardware issues.  When im in N3 the
joystick calibration will flicker when I move the wheel but it never
centers.  Then when I assign the wheel it does not recognize it as a
control.  I have loaded some of the default profiles and the wheel has
worked for a short time but if you check the calibration you will loose it,
so that's not really working either.  The wheel works correctly in NFS3.  I
had a Logitech Wingman non FF yellow wheel and it worked correctly but is
was an out of box unit and broke after the first couple of hours of use.
The service desk people at Best Buy made comments about seeing allot of the
Logitech's being returned so I went with the Microsoft unit.  Anyone have
any like problems they can comment on?

Well I have the logitech formula force USB wheel and it works great
in N3. Is your MS wheel on ID#1 in the control panel joystick applet?
Frankly I would recommend returning the MS wheel and getting the
Logitech FF. I've never had a problem with it (knock on wood).

I went out and bought the microsoft sidewinder force feedback wheel
today. I have a cable modem and everytime I run Nascar3 it locks up my
cable modem where it will not connect back online. It also will not
let me connect to race online. I have to reboot the computer to get my
modem to work after running Nascar3. Anyone know whats causing this
and how to fix it? Thanks.
