Hi guys,
Boy was I surprised, I placed an order with InteractCDon Thrusday night
and I got my game here, of all places, in Singapore today. And I
expected, like they said 7 to 14 days, due to Xmas rush etc. Damned,
these guys are good.
I instantly patched my game with V1.05, killed off Driver X with Martin
G's fab util and zoomed off. After reading all the qualms many of you
have reported with game, I can only say I have found none yet. Slowdown
at the start is minimal, probalbly only a few frames and only at places
like Mirabeau at Monaco and through La Source, certainly not just a few
frames a second some of you claim. This is with a 200MMX, 32MB Edo and a
Magic 3Dfx. I can *load* setups and have yet to see the dreaded black
sky. The tunnel a little dark, but could probably be fixed with chroma
settings. And at least for now, the AI is sufficiently challenging with
no aids. Those internet hotlaps are beginning to look a LOT more suspect
when I realised how much easier it was with all aids!
Ohhhh, I'm having so much time. Now I'll need somebody to replace me in
my Chevy Monte Carlo at Gateway while I go drive the REAL monte carlo
;-))))
