FS98 - extra 'stuff'

by Ian » Sun, 01 Feb 1998 04:00:00

Now that I can land - take off - navigate with a degree of success, can
anyone point me in the direction of resources available over the internet to
add to my basic installation. i.e. more cities, airports, planes , tutorials
etc. etc.

Please e-mail response, many thanks.

Ian,

There are literally hundreds of sources.

Some that come to mind (in no particular order) are:

www.avsim.com, www.flightsim.com, www.simflight.com, www.microwings.com, and
a wealth of others.

Please keep in mind that there are many others that may be as good, if not
better resources than the one's I briefly mention.  The best suggestion I
might offer is to point your favorite search engine at terms like FS98,
free, scenery, download, etc.

I hope this helps!

Kindest Regards,

<Searchable Databases>

If you are searching for downloadable files of a particular type
whether
it be scenery, planes, panels, utilities or whatever...A great place
to
go is Mike Marando's searchable database of the IUP uploads.
Go to: <http://www.avsim.com/cgi-bin/htmlscript?flts_pub.hts>

Once you get to his page it is self explanatory.  You will
see the most recent uploads, and below it is the search engine text
block.
Below the search engine text block, is a list of file categories.  By
clicking on any of these buttons, you can browse to your heart's
content
through all the available files of a particular type
--------------------------
Another great database for searching out the type files you are
looking for
can be found at <http://www.flightsim.com>
You will have to login to the database by selecting a user name and a
password.  It is free. On the first page you will select the way you
want the
web pages to display to your screen. "No Graphics" is the best choice
for
speed.  A couple of strokes of the page down key on the next page and
you will
find the "File Libraries" Section.
You can select from the following options:
Search File Libraries
View Entire Section
Newest Files
Scenery Lookup Maps
Hot Files For Yesterday
Aircraft Reviwer's Notebook

I guess from your email address that you're British; therefore you
will probably be very interested in the excellent British scenery
available free from <http://www.magrathea.clara.net/>.
