I don't know about anyone else, but I feel completely lost when I see
an article titled RE: something-something, and there are a number of
lines about some topic, with no quoted articles or even a segment of
an article that the poster is replying to to put the reply into
context.  Anybody else feeling this aggravation?

yea, but when someone just wants to comment on one line, why use the
whole message?

Yes, but some people don't even include one line of the quoted
message.
