Have you had a major wreck at Talladega where maybe 15 cars are
involved just before the tri-oval and your spotter is saying....
"There's a wreck in the tri-oval...."
"There's a wreck in the tri-oval...."
"There's a wreck in the tri-oval...."
"There's a wreck in the tri-oval...."
"There's a wreck in the tri-oval...."
etc etc .... 15 times until nobody else gets into the wreck. Then as
you're approaching the wreck he's insisting "GO LOW! GO LOW!" and
there's NOTHING there to go through, just carnage. Right before you
hit something he's screaming "GO HIGH! GO HIGH!" Make up your mind
dude! So I jump up high with a 120 mph 45 degree turn (try it
sometime, it's an adventure) just in time to smack into a car coming
down that line where his spotter apparently told him the correct way
to make it through the wreck. Then guess what..
"There's a wreck in the tri-oval...."
"There's a wreck in the tri-oval...."
"We can't fix this.... our day is over"
Just race with damage off and hit the wreck at a perfect 90 degrees
and plow through it?
To hell with the spotter, volume 0. Next time I go through the
pits.
Other than that, I love everything else about the game.
The paintkit is a huge leap over it's earlier sibling.
The Doppler effect of cars whizzing by is perfect.
The graphics are better than ICR2 and just as smooth, great sensation
of speed and movement (not since NFS has a game tricked my mind into
thinking I was watching a moving car).
The setup of cars is better and faster with everything on one page.
The scenery of each track is much improved and the night racing at
C***te is nailed right down to perfect in lighting and detail.
Even the pace car was hugely improved.
Now, to get the Reactor 3D working with the Rendition version and
I'll never leave the house.
