N2: Daytona finally on the way?

Say, did anybody else read what I read in "Interaction" magazine? (A
promo mag published by Sierra.) In reference to their N2 and ICR2
products, it said, and I quote:

"Later this year, Sierra will introduce a racing product where every
racer can create the racetrack of their dreams."

Now ain't that the berries!! Does this tell you what it tells me?
Does this mean that I can buy this product, build my own Daytona, or
Indy, or "??" and I can tell all the licensing legal eagles to go
suck their thumbs!!?? After all, what I create on my own PC for my
own use doesn't infringe on any lousy licensing agreement someone
has with someone else, does it? (That last one was a real question
for you guys that know more about that sort of thing.)

If any of you have any more info about this announced product, mind
clueing the rest of us in?

Don't count on this being for ncr2 or icr2.  The sentence prior to the
above sentence stated that in both of those games, you were able to create
your own cars.  It then went on to say "Later this year, sierra will
introduce ------a racing product-------where every racer can create the
racetrack of their dreams."  Call me a pessimist, but I see go-karts racing
around "the racetrack of our dreams".  la-di-frickin-da :-(

I have the magazine also and I thought it will be something you buy that
will work for all of papy's sims. Just my opinion.

Ken Williams (I am sure) was "hinting" at the SODA race sim scheduled
for lat 1997 release.  I think there was a post here about some of the
features to be included and a track editor was one of them.

I guess that Papyrus is going to make such a program, so that people can
just create such tracks as Daytona, Indy, Texas, Las Vegas, and California,
and get away with it without any legal action by Sega or any other comapny.
Speaking of Sega, has anyone heard that they have also purchased the Indy
rights now?!?!?!?!? Their new arcade game, Indy 500, just recently came
out! I think that they did this just to***off Papyrus and up Nascar
Racing fans!!!

I'm sure that's not the case. There's simply too much money involved
and at stake to be playing out elementary school grudges...

I believe that quote is refering to the track editor to be
included in the off road racing game.  Tracks made with that
editor won't be usable with N2.
