Eh?
I have read every DK interview I can find online and I cannot find a single
instance of him saying GPL2 is a possibility.
Could you post the link to the interview please?

Kaemmer only answered the question 'If you had to choose the era if
you would make a GPL2' or something like that I believe.

I think 1988 would be a great year, Senna had just moved to McLaren to start
his emnity with Prost, there were 18 teams and something like 30 drivers,
and those cars just look gorgeous compared to modern F1 cars.

I personally find the 1988 McLaren to be a rather ugly looking car.  Of course,
I find the modern day F1 car ugly too.  I, however, LOVE the look and the sound
of a Champ Car...  (hint, hint...)
