I was wondering if you had a setup for Road Atlanta that we might be able to
use for RASCAR. You have a replay on your site for this track, but no setup.

Hi Dave,

thanks for asking.

The <fast> setup of this track is my RoadA setup (the one I did that
1:07 with).

I would like to make a suggestion for that track and any of the others that
don't have expert setups - take a PWF setup from a similar track (the
Kyalami expert setup or an Eric LeBlanc setup for some of the other tracks
should work nicely), change the tape to match the setup that comes with the
track, and change the diff ratio to give you the same overall top gear ratio
as the included setup.  I haven't had a chance to try this yet but I believe
it would work out well.  The nice thing is it would have a more consistent
feel from one track to the next, so people wouldn't be feeling like they
have to learn to drive all over again.

The problem with that is that R. Atlanta has much more
drastic elevation changes than something flatter like Kyalami, so
I'm not sure what the setup gurus would do for that (if anything)-
I know softer springs, which are helpful for other things, would
cause bottoming out at RA...

Consider this <fast> setup an expert setup just following
a more humble naming convention :)

Considering what Jason said in the Sarthe thread :) would you like me to
tweak the RA setup a bit? Let me know if you don't like the <fast>
one, and I'll modify it for driveability.

Actually, I love the setup. :-)

I didn't know that you had made the <fast> setup, so there's no need to make
another. I think it's an excellent setup. I just thought I'd ask for another
to try out in case there was a request for an alternative, like there was
with LeMans.

After our RASCAR race this past Saturday, a small group of us ran some
practice laps at RA, and I had a blast. First time ever for myself and some
others at RA, but we still had a good time with the setup on what I consider
a very fun track to drive. I tried it again tonight, and managed a 108.7.
No changes needed IMO.

Hehe, i _knew_ this was your setup for 2 reasons: 1st your Mustang shows
up in the
title pic and 2nd the brake balance at 58% :))
