FAQ REQ - Is it needed?

Just noticing all the repeat questions that are appearing of late.  Does
this NG require a FAQ?  Does someone want to take a step forward and do it?

FAQ REQ - Is it needed?

Well, a lot of the same physics questions keep coming around,
maybe someone could compile these, save some typing in the future?

I'll volunteer to write the shameless plug -- check sae.org for our
book and other references (not Amazon).

Does anyone have a server that could be set up to post a FAQ at weekly
intervals (or whatever)?

Doug,

We could probably do that at The Pits.

Well we actually had a FAQ here for a long time, for multiple titles even.
At this current evolution of the Usenet, it's more and more impossible to
have a FAQ that answers the most common question, because the general
interest of the Usenet by a single person searching for an answer is very
sparse.  So most of them won't read the FAQ.

The people left are people with enough interest in the community to stick
here a while, read what others have to say and find the answers themselves.

Since most of the people DO answer questions, it means that they really
don't need a FAQ and they will answers each and every question.  It makes it
much more personal than just saying "Read the FAQ" ;)

Well, I don't think having a "physics" FAQ is a bad idea.  We already have a
small section on physics at The Pits (Physics of Racing Series FAQ).

FAQ REQ - Is it needed?

That would be great--I've been wanting a FAQ for some time now. I have
tried finding answers to (what have turned out to be common) SCGT
questions by web searching but rarely have much luck. And when asking
on boards, the answers I have received have not always been, uh,
definitve.
